GUYMASTER Release Notes for version 3.0.0 as of November 29, 2010 ----------------------------------------- 1. The user may now organize the projects under groups of projects and by project name, without having to deal with names having long paths. This makes for easier recognition of projects and a more systematic organization of data. The old workspaces from the version 3.0.0 GUYMASTER software can be automatically brought into the new system. 2. "Current Workspace" and "Viewing Workspace" in the workspace manager dialog box will now show the virtual location of the workspace instead of the physical location on the hard drive. 3. There are a number of special modeling and analysis control tables that can be used to modify how the analysis will be performed. These were always included in each loading condition. Now the user may include them in the static part of the data that describes the tower itself and have them applied in each loading condition by default. The user may also override these by providing new data in the loading condition itself. 4. When entering loading data, the user may use the "Apply To..." option to replace any table in any number of loading conditions with that currently selected. This is useful for quick input of data into a number of selected loading conditions. Please note that any data already in that table in the selected loading conditions, will be lost. 5. It is now possible to change the National Standard used for the analysis by clicking on "Change Standard..." in the "Project" menu. 6. Table names and some details have been changed to make them the same when using any National Standard as follows: * "MAST GEOMETRY" becomes "LATTICE MAST GEOMETRY" , "PANEL PROPERTIES" tables name was changed to "LATTICE MAST MATERIALS". * The "MATERIAL TYPES" table, now has the space for two values of thickness, one for the web, the other for the flange. This allows the explicit definition of flange thickness in wide flange sections tees and channels. And allows for the proper specification of these types of sections. The unit weight value has been moved to a new table called "MATERIAL PROPERTIES" This will also allow the input of more material properties such as elastic modulii, expansion coeff, etc. 7. The user may now specify pole resistances in the "POLE RESISTANCES" table. 8. The user may bring a project prepared in INSPECTOWER 3 into GUYMASTER. This gives the user the possibility of using a less expensive software to prepare data for analysis on the more expensive software. 9. Using the "Header Assistant" switch in the "View" menu, the user can not activate or deactivate the graphical displays in the input tables for "LATTICE MAST GEOMETRY" , "MATERIAL TYPES", and "MICROWAVE PARABOLIC ANTENNAS". 10. GUYMASTER will now remember the last used widths for the side bars. 11. When "Save As..." in the Project drop down menu is chosen, the current project name is displayed for easy modification if required. This avoids having to retype the whole name. 12. Units conversions in the databases for Guys and Tx-lines have been made consistent, where they did not match. Also, when anything is changed for one set of units, it is automatically updated in the other units. 13. The graphical results for monopoles now also show the line for pole resistance as well as wind loading information from load calculations. 14. The Draw Tower function now includes: * Grouping of any number of appurtenances on the profile view for simultaneous display in the plan view. The selected group range can be saved for reuse. * of the plan view now shows guy attachment positions and plan layout of guys in the plan view. Selecting a guy cable will allow the user to see the guy cable information by clicking on the property dialog box. * Tx-lines cluster properties are now shown in the properties dialog box. 15. Units conversion problems in the monopole results report file have been corrected. 16. It is now possible to specify in GUYMASTER directly that cylindrical sections should be used on guyed lattice structures (i.e. number of legs = 1). This makes it compatible with GUYMAST, so the user need not modify the .usg file. 17. The wind direction probability factor for appurtenances was reduced from 0.95 to 0.85 according to TIA-222-G Addendum 1.
